WELCOME TO SUSTAINABLY TRENDY
With Ffibi Barnitt
A complete beginner attempting to think and buy more sustainably...
What do I class as sustainable?
Sustainability is not yet officially measurable, which means that it is very hard to judge how sustainable a product or brand is. It allows lines to be blurred a bit and this makes my job within this blog confusing and tricky.
Therefore, I am looking for efforts made by big and popular brands to produce items which have a reduced effect on the environment in comparison to their 'normal' ranges available. This could include, using recycled materials, organic materials, making the clothing in a way that produces less carbon dioxide than the normal ranges.
I have chosen these guidelines to show high street shoppers the options they have when buying from their favourite brands. By choosing to shop within the more sustainable ranges, customers will show brands what they want which will hopefully initiate more change within the fashion industry.
